About the role:
We are seeking a talented civil design technician to join our team in Whangarei. If you are ready to work on exciting and diverse projects in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful regions, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing landform modelling for use in preparation of design analysis by our engineers (retaining, road / access arrangements, land stabilisation solutions, earthworks in flood zones);
- Preparation of finished drawings (plans & details) from engineer’s sketches for commercial projects external works and stand-alone civil engineering projects;
- Development of 2D levels drawing plans where modelling is not beneficial/necessary.
- Detailing fully annotated long sections and cross sections for roading corridors, coastal protection structures, drainage and stop-bank works, etc;
- Management of project drawing set and revision tracking;
- Assistance in extracting quantities from drawings to inform pricing schedules;
- Critical eye for detail in the output.
- Ability to produce clear and aesthetically consistent drawings in accordance with our office standards.
What you’ll bring
- New Zealand Diploma in Architectural Technology (level 6) or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings, sketches and technical plans.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D)
- Knowledge of New Zealand standards, guidelines, regional engineer standards/NZS4404.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with clients.
- Full, clean driver’s license.
