Sandspit Marina

Sandspit Marina provides for 131 walk-on berths adjacent to Sandspit YC on the Matakana River. We worked with the Sandspit Yacht Club and Sandspit Marina Society to prepare detailed design drawings for the new marina and supporting shoreside upgrades, preparation of tender & contract documents for the civil and on-water elements of the works and provided construction oversight and contract administration for the physical works.

The construction phase occurred over a 2 year period which included the dredging and disposal of over 100,000m3 of marine sediments & rock, fabrication of all marina floating elements on site, formation of new bird roost areas, installation of over 210 sleeved piles and placement of 6500t of imported rock armouring. The marina berths were fully sold prior to commencement of works and was ultimately oversubscribed.
