Are you a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer with 8 or more year’s experience? Have you “done your time” in the field and are ready to lead a team? Do you want a role that has input into a business’ strategic direction within the stability of a long established, highly regarded and truly multi-disciplinary regional company?
Hawthorn Geddes are looking for a Geotechnical Director to manage the existing geotechnical team and the wider business alongside the three other active Directors, each operating in their relevant fields of engineering and design with a ‘hands on’ approach to delivery. The role requires a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer with field work experience and management capability, and will be principally based in our Whangarei office with potentially one day a week in our Warkworth office.
The ideal candidate will be preferably New Zealand trained and be able to demonstrate an ability to technically lead a geotechnical team and drive commercially effective thinking. You should be able to demonstrate an aptitude to meet with prospective clients and secure new forward work, particularly focused on the geotechnical area. The ability to manage project delivery, including Client liaison and internal project cost control is also required. The role will include working closely with our architects and engineers of other disciplines, with your team supplying them with geotechnical engineering advice as well as liaising with contractors and external consultants.
Hawthorn Geddes offer competitive remuneration and a friendly, collaborative working environment. Future opportunity for shareholding may be offered to the appropriate individual.
Whangarei, and wider Northland, provide fantastic lifestyle opportunities to individuals and families with ready access to a wide range of outdoor activities including tramping, diving, sailing and fishing, or just going to the beach!
Be part of a growing Northland economy, with the future potential of port expansion, rail corridor improvements and road link upgrades to Auckland, working with a broad and established client base.
Direct applications are preferred.
