Pohe Island Carpark

The proposal was to provide a new 270+ carpark in the vicinity of the Mad Hatters football club and the Rock ‘n’ Roll club, including associated footpaths and bus turning area, and in anticipation of the destination playground facility.

Hawthorn Geddes provided Civil engineering design services, including car-park layout, stormwater management incorporating rain-gardens and reticulated network.  Street and pedestrian route lighting design to CPTED was also provided.  Special consideration of stormwater collection systems was required due to the potential for leachate generation from historic landfill.  The urban landscaping was designed to reflect the former industrial use of the land.
