8 Wired Brewery

This building was commissioned to replace an existing garage that burnt down.  Pre-cast concrete panels were chosen for speed of construction, durability and fire performance, and the building reflects the local design aesthetic with embossed and gabled panels.

Originally designed to house multiple commercial tenancies, during construction a single tenant was found, meaning alterations were carried out to the internal layout, incorporating additional customer facilities.  Alterations were also carried out to the main windows and doors.

The site itself incorporates water storage and attenuation, as well as on-site car-parking and loading.

Hawthorn Geddes provided full architectural and engineering services, including Geotechnical site assessment, Structural analysis and Civil design for all site services, as well as assistance in the provision of a Resource Consent for the project and project management.
